Custom Packaging Questions, Answered

Everything you need to know about ordering, materials, sustainability, design, and shipping. Still stuck? Our specialists are a call away.

Ordering & Minimums

What is the minimum order quantity for custom packaging?

Our standard minimum order is 50 units per SKU. Sample orders of 1-5 units are available for most products for a flat $25 sample fee. Rush orders have a minimum of 100 units.

Can I order different products in one order?

Yes. You can combine multiple products and SKUs in a single order. Each SKU is subject to its own 50-unit minimum.

Do you offer reorder discounts?

Yes. Reorders of an existing approved design are faster and often qualify for volume pricing as your quantities grow.

How do I place an order?

Start with a free quote. Once you approve pricing and a digital proof, we move your order into production and ship from Columbus, OH.

Can I get a dedicated account representative?

Yes. Every account is assigned a US-based representative who handles quotes, proofs, reorders, and rush requests.

Is there a setup or tooling fee?

Some custom die-cut formats include a one-time tooling fee for the cutting die. Your quote itemizes any setup costs up front with no surprises.

Can you hold inventory for scheduled releases?

Yes. We offer inventory and scheduled-release programs for subscription and CPG customers who need consistent monthly supply.

Production & Turnaround

How long does it take to produce custom packaging?

Standard production takes 5-7 business days after proof approval. Rush production of 2-3 business days is available for an additional fee.

When does production start?

Production starts the next business day after you approve your digital proof.

Do you offer rush production?

Yes. Rush production delivers in 2-3 business days on most products for an additional fee. Rush orders have a 100-unit minimum.

Where is my packaging manufactured?

All packaging is produced at our Columbus, OH facility in the United States—no overseas production or delays.

What is the lead time for rigid luxury boxes?

Rigid luxury boxes typically take 10-14 business days due to hand assembly and specialty finishing. Rush options can be discussed with your rep.

Can I expedite a reorder?

Yes. Because the design is already approved, reorders move quickly and are well suited to rush timelines.

Materials & Specs

What is the difference between single-wall and double-wall corrugated?

Single-wall corrugated has one fluted layer and suits most retail and e-commerce shipping. Double-wall adds a second fluted layer for heavier or fragile items with higher burst strength.

What paperboard thickness should I choose for folding cartons?

Most retail cartons use 16pt to 18pt SBS. Lighter products can use 14pt; premium or heavier items use 20pt-24pt. We recommend a caliper based on your product.

What flute types do you offer?

We offer common flute profiles including B, C, E, and combined BC/EB double-wall, each balancing cushioning, print surface, and stacking strength differently.

What is a rigid box?

A rigid box is built from thick greyboard wrapped in specialty paper, creating a sturdy, non-collapsible structure that communicates premium quality.

Can you match a specific color?

Yes. We print full CMYK and can match spot colors (including Pantone references) to keep your brand consistent across runs.

Do you provide dieline templates?

Yes. Free dieline templates are available for all formats so your designer can lay out artwork accurately.

Sustainability

Do you offer eco-friendly or sustainable packaging options?

Yes. We offer FSC-certified corrugated, 100% post-consumer recycled content, compostable mailers, and soy-based inks across our full product line.

Are your grease-resistant coatings PFAS-free?

Yes. We offer PFAS-free grease-resistant and moisture-barrier coatings to meet the latest state regulations.

Are compostable mailers home or commercially compostable?

We offer both. Home-compostable mailers break down in backyard conditions, while commercially compostable options require an industrial facility.

What sustainability certifications do you hold?

Our sustainable line uses FSC- and SFI-certified materials. We can supply certification documentation to support your own claims.

Is all of your packaging recyclable?

All of our corrugated and paperboard packaging is recyclable. Recyclability of mailers depends on the specific material chosen, and we label each option clearly.

Design & Printing

Do you offer design support?

Yes. Our in-house design team helps at no extra cost. Send your logo and brand assets and we handle layout and dieline prep.

What file formats do you accept for artwork?

We accept print-ready vector files (AI, PDF, EPS) and high-resolution raster files. Our team will confirm specs and flag any issues before printing.

Can I print on the inside of my box?

Yes. Interior printing is popular for mailer boxes and elevates the unboxing experience. We print full color on inside and outside surfaces.

What premium finishes are available?

Available finishes include gloss and matte lamination, soft-touch coating, spot UV, foil stamping, and embossing or debossing.

Will I see a proof before production?

Yes. A digital proof is always included free of charge, and physical samples are available before full production.

How long does proofing take?

You typically receive a digital proof within 24 hours of submitting artwork.

Shipping & Pricing

Do you ship across the United States?

We ship to all 50 US states. Free freight is included on orders over $500. Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories may incur additional shipping costs.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing depends on dimensions, material, print, finishing, and quantity. Request a free quote for a precise per-unit price for your project.

Do larger quantities lower the unit price?

Yes. Per-unit pricing drops as quantities increase. Each product page lists volume tiers so you can plan your order.

Is freight included?

Free freight is included on orders over $500 within the continental US. Smaller orders are quoted with shipping itemized.

Can I get a physical sample before placing a full order?

Yes. Physical samples are $25, credited toward your first full order. Digital proofs are always free before production.

We accept major credit cards and ACH for most orders, and we offer net terms for qualified accounts—ask your rep for details.
